Springstone has affiliated with the The Jason Foundation (JFI) to provide suicide prevention education and support materials to interested parents, teachers, and youth organizations in the communities in which its hospitals are located.  For more specific information regarding these programs and resources, please contact a Springstone hospital.

The Jason Foundation, Inc. (JFI) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization whose mission is the prevention of the “Silent Epidemic” of youth suicide – the 2nd leading cause of death for our nation’s youth. JFI, at almost 18 years in existence, is one of the nation’s leading and largest non-profits addressing suicide.

JFI believes that awareness and education are the first steps in prevention. The “Triangle of Prevention” module developed by JFI provides programs and resources for the three major influencers of a young person’s life (*) their peers; (*) educators / youth workers; (*) parents / communities. These programs help provide information, tools, and resources to help identify and assist possible at-risk youth. They are not intended to diagnose or treat suicidal ideation. JFI’s intention is to empower youth, educators, and parents to help recognize when a young person may be in mental / emotional pain and assist in developing a plan to know how to get professional help involved as soon as possible.

JFI, through the support of its National Community Affiliates and other donors, provides all of its programs and services at no-charge.  More information regarding The Jason Foundation at: http://jasonfoundation.com
